Conditions 
General 
  • All luggage must be labelled with your name and address details. 
  • You must be able to carry your luggage yourself. 
  • The luggage must not obstruct others. 
  • There are no exact rules regarding weight and dimensions of luggage.  
  • The guideline is: no heavier than 32 kg and no larger than 85 cm. 
 
Luggage types 
  • Each passenger may take the following on the train: 
    • Two regular travel bags or suitcases and one item of small hand luggage. 
    • Or one item of non-standard luggage and one regular travel bag or suitcase and one item of small hand luggage. 
   
Non-standard luggage 
 
Not allowed 
  • Check the customs rules before travelling. Items not permitted by customs or another government body are also prohibited on the TGV.  Examples include: 
    • Replica or toy weapons that could be perceived as real weapons. 
    • Ammunition. 
    • Fireworks. 
    • Hazardous sports equipment (such as javelins, crossbows, fencing sabres and starting pistols). 
    • Items that might cause a nuisance to other passengers, e.g. products that give off a very strong smell. 
 
What next 
  • If your luggage meets the conditions, you can take it on the train with you and stow it free of charge in the locations intended for this: 
    • Luggage racks above the seats or at the ends of each coach. 
    • Under your seat. 
  • If your luggage does not meet the conditions, it may be refused. 
  • You remain responsible for your own luggage.
