What is Intercity Brussels
  • Intercity Brussels (Intercity Brussels) is an Intercity running from Amsterdam C to Brussels via Breda and the Hazeldonk border.
  • The train runs 16 times a day from Amsterdam C, Schiphol, Rotterdam and Breda station.
  • The train stops at the following stations:
    • In the Netherlands: Amsterdam Centraal, Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam Centraal and Breda.
    • In Belgium: Noorderkempen, Antwerpen Centraal, Antwerpen Berchem, Mechelen, Brussels Airport - Zaventem, Brussels North, Brussels Central and Brussels-Midi.
      • Roosendaal and Dordrecht stations are no longer served by Intercity Brussels. The local train from Roosendaal to Antwerp runs via the Roosendaal border. 
 
IC Direct
  • On the HSL route from Amsterdam to Breda, Intercity Brussels also runs as Intercity direct (ICD). An international train ticket to Brussels is valid on the ICD, with no additional supplement required.
    • However, passengers with a national ticket for the route Schiphol Airport - Rotterdam in both directions pay an Intercity Direct Supplement.
    • When booking a domestic journey for this route, the supplement is automatically added to the booking and cannot be removed.

  • There is no seat map of Intercity Brussels available.
 
Fare structure
  • Two basic fares are offered, and discount campaigns are also offered a number of times a year.
    • Flex fare (can be combined with all discount passes). 
      • The ticket price depends on the class, the route, the number of kilometres travelled and whether you possess a discount pass.
      • Bookings can be changed and cancelled for free, up to the day before departure. No refunds are possible thereafter.
    • Early Bird fare (can be combined with discount passes entitling you to a 100% discount in Belgium or the Netherlands).
      • Only valid on the chosen departure time and date.
      • Two price levels available, each with its own availability level, subject to limited availability.
      • The Early Bird fare is not for sale from NS-card vending machines or NS-servicedesks.
  • You can obtain the ticket price by entering your journey details in the 'Where would you like to go?' section on NSinternational.com.
  • Children aged up to 11 travel for free if the tickets are purchased from an NS International sales channel. When purchasing from NS ticket machines or at NS service desks, children pay €2.50 per single journey.
     

    Traject Vrij season ticket for international journeys
  • Passengers wishing to purchase an Traject Vrij season ticket for frequent journeys can buy a season ticket to the Hazeldonk border.
     
  • NMBS fares and tickets
  • Customers travelling from Roosendaal or Maastricht to Belgium can also travel at an NMBS Mobility fare. These fares are available at NMBS ticket machines in Roosendaal and Maastricht. 
  • Brussels Airport Supplement
  • A supplement – the Brussels Airport Supplement – is required for journeys from/to Brussels Airport Zaventem at € 6.60 when included in the ticket and € 6.70 when purchased separately.
  • The Brussels Airport Supplement is already included with international tickets with Brussels Airport Zaventem departure or destination station. This also applies to tickets sold from NS service desks or NS ticket machines.
  • The Brussels Airport Supplement is not included with a ticket valid to Any Belgian Station (EBS) or with a Belgian season ticket. You must buy a separate supplement to go with this:
    • by telephone from Customer Service.
    • on arriving at Brussels Airport - Zaventem from the NMBS ticket machine.
