Do I have to pay a supplement to travel on Eurocity Direct?
Eurocity Direct is a high-speed train that runs from Amsterdam Zuid to Brussel-Zuid/Midi via Hazeldonk border and Antwerpen-Centraal.
The train runs 16 times a day from Amsterdam Zuid, Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam Centraal.
Out of the 16 trains, Eurocity Direct departs from Lelystad Centrum 12 times a day. Up to Amsterdam Zuid, the intermediate stations are Almere Buiten and Almere Centrum.
You do not need a supplement if you are travelling with an international ticket or a valid Interrail or Eurail Pass.
Eurocity Direct also operates as a domestic high-speed train on the Schiphol ⇔ Rotterdam Centraal HSL route.
Passengers with a domestic ticket pay a supplement if the route Schiphol Airport - Rotterdam is part of their journey. The supplement can be bought online on the NS website or via the NS app. The supplement can also be purchased at the station from a NS ticket machine, at a NS Service desk or via the Supplement column (Toeslagenzuil) on the platform from which the train departs.
