Conditions 
  • Passengers with a disability must hold an OV-Begeleiderskaart. 
 
Travelling with a wheelchair or mobility scooter 
  • There are no special fares for passengers in a wheelchair and their accompanying passengers. 
  • Not all TER and Intercity Intercité trains without a required reservation are equipped for passengers in a wheelchair. 
    • We recommend passengers in a wheelchair only to travel on trains that require reservations. 
    • If passengers nevertheless wish to travel on a TER or IC SRO train, they can contact the Accès Plus department of SNCF for more information. 
  • In trains requiring reservations (IC ARO), there are spaces for one or two wheelchairs/mobility scooters of a maximum of 120 x 70 cm (l x w). 
 
Travelling with a visual impairment 
  • There is no special fare for passengers with a visual impairment. 
  • There is a special Companion fare for the person accompanying a passenger with a visual impairment. 
    • This fare only applies if the visually impaired passenger has a French mobility inclusion card. 
  • Passengers with a disability and accompanying passengers must travel the entire journey together: Departure and destination station and class must be the same on both tickets.
 
Travelling with a guide dog or assistance dog 
  • Assistance dogs travel free of charge (without a ticket). A muzzle is not required. 
 
 
Customer Service: Requesting Travel Assistance
  • You can request assistance with getting on and off the train from NS Travel Assistance.
  • Requests for assistance during an international journey should be submitted at least 24 hours before departure of the train.
