Conditions 
  • If you are travelling abroad with a pet, foreign laws and regulations apply. 
    • A valid pet passport with vaccinations required for the country is compulsory.  
    • For more information, please consult your veterinary surgeon.
  • Small pets (such as a dog, cat or hamster) must be carried in a cage, box or basket of a maximum of 45 x 30 x 25 cm (l x w x h). 
    • Travelling with a pet (<6 kg) costs € 6.
  • You can take medium or large dogs (>6 kg) on the train with you, provided they are on a leash and wear a muzzle. 
    • A ticket for a medium or large dog costs 50% of a full-fare, second-class ticket. Even if you yourself are travelling in first class. 
  • Assistance dogs travel free of charge, and do not need to wear a muzzle. 
  • Dogs and other pets are not allowed to enter the restaurant car. 
 
What next 
  • From travel date 10 January 2024, it is temporarily not possible to book for a dog or pet at NS International. Tickets for a dog or pet are sold on the train, by the Train Manager.
