Children must hold a valid passport or identity card in their own name and be able to show this to verify their age.
Children must have all the required visas or other immigration documents for the countries they are travelling through.
Children aged up to 11 always travel accompanied by an adult.
Ages
Aged up to 5 years
Travel for free if they share a bed or berth with an adult or another child aged up to 5 travelling at the children's fare.
Travel at the children's fare if they require a place of their own.
Aged 6 to 14 years
Travel at the children's fare.
Travel in a couchette or sleeper compartment supervised by an adult at all times.
Children travelling alone to/from/through Hungary
Children aged 12 to 17 years travelling alone must present written evidence that their parents give consent for the journey. Please find in the attachment the consent form for travelling abroad: Parent Declaration Form.
