Eurostar to Belgium/France » Travelling with a pet

Conditions
  • Travelling with pets on Eurostar to Belgium/France is only permitted from/to Brussels and Paris.
  • Passenger may each take a maximum of two small pets (in a sturdy cage or basket) or one larger dog (heavier than 5 kg) on board with them.
  • If you are travelling abroad with a pet, you are bound by the laws and regulations of all the countries you are travelling through. That means your pet must have been chipped, be vaccinated in time against rabies and have a valid pet passport. For more information, please consult your veterinarian.
  • EU customs rules also apply to Eurostar to Belgium/France. Animals not permitted include the following: wild animals, birds and dangerous dogs. 
  • If a fellow passenger objects to the presence of a pet, the Train Manager may move you and your pet to another part of the train.
 
Small pets
  • You can take a pet weighing under 5 kg for free in a suitable basket or bag with a maximum size of 55 x 30 x 30 cm (l x w x h).
  • If the train is crowded, the basket or bag must go on your lap.
 
Large pets
  • For a pet weighing over 5 kg, you need to purchase a ticket from the Train Manager for € 30 on the Eurostar to Belgium/France.
    • Payment is possible with cash or by creditcard. 
  • It is not possible to reserve a seat for a pet.
  • In Belgium and France, dogs weighing 5 kg or more must be on a leash and muzzled.
  • An assistance dog may travel for free (no ticket required) and does not need to wear a muzzle.

Eurostar Sun
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • However, a guide or assistance dog or assistance animal is allowed. 
    • Assistance dogs travel free of charge and without a ticket. A muzzle is not required.

Eurostar Snow
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • However, a guide or assistance dog or assistance animal is allowed. 
    • Assistance dogs travel free of charge and without a ticket. A muzzle is not required.
