What is a Brussels Airport supplement / Diabolo surcharge and where do I pay it?

  • A special railway line to improve the accessibility of Brussels Airport – Zaventem was laid in 2012. Passengers to the airport use this line and pay a Brussels Airport Supplement (Diabolo) of € 6.70 (or € 6.60 when integrated in the ticket price). Children up to 11 years of age and accompanied by an adult do not pay the surcharge.
  • The Brussels Airport Supplement / Diabolo Surcharge is included in the price of your ticket to Brussels Airport - Zaventem if the ticket is bought via NSInternational.com, at a NS International desk in a Service Shop, from a NS ticket machine or from NS International Customer service on +31 30 2300023.
  • The Brussels Airport Supplement / Diabolo Surcharge is not included if you are travelling with a ticket that does not specifically show Brussels Airport - Zaventem as the departure or the destination station, for example a season ticket.
  • You can pay for a separate Brussels Airport Supplement at a NS International desk in a Service Shop, at NS International Customer service, or at Brussels Airport – Zaventem station.
