Can I take my wheelchair or mobility scooter on an international train, and where can I buy a ticket?

You can still travel on an international train if you have a functional disability. Determining factors, which may vary per train, include the dimensions of your wheelchair or mobility scooter. A brief overview is given below.
  • Thalys: 125 x 75 cm.
  • Intercity Brussels: 150 x 70 cm.
  • Intercity Berlin: 125 x 70 cm.
  • ICE International: 125 x 70 cm.
  • TGV: 120 x 70 cm.
  • Eurostar: 100 x 70 cm.
  • A wheelchair space must be reserved on all international trains except Intercity Brussels. Reserve your wheelchair space at an NS International desk in a Service Shop or via Customer Service on +31 30 2300023.
  • If you have reserved a wheelchair space, always ask for assistance for boarding and leaving the train. Call Customer Service at least 48 hours before departure, on +31 30 235 7822.
