Paper Eurail and Interrail Passes
  • Eurail and Interrail ticket covers have a square barcode that you can use to open the gates at railway stations in the Netherlands.
  • The square barcode can be used for the entire validity period of the pass.
  • If the square barcode does not work / no longer works, please request a new ticket cover from the NS International desk in the Service Shop.  
    • Please note! Ticket covers for Eurail Passes are only available from the NS International desk at Amsterdam Centraal or Schiphol Airport.
 
Mobile Eurail and Interrail Passes
  • Mobile passes are imported into the Eurail / Interrail Rail Planner app.
  • The day ticket that is generated in the app for a particular travel date has a square barcode. The barcode opens the gate on that particular day.
  • When the square barcode does not work / no longer works, please: 
    • go to an Information column next to the gates and press the blue button for help.
    • ask a NS-service employee for assistance, if you can find one at that station.
