Conditions 
General 
  • All luggage must be labelled with your name and address details. 
  • You must be able to carry your luggage yourself. 
  • Your luggage must not obstruct anyone. 
  
Luggage types 
  • Each passenger may take the following on the train: 
    • Two regular travel bags or suitcases and one item of small hand luggage. 
      Or: 
    • One item of non-standard luggage and one regular travel bag or suitcase and one item of small hand luggage. 
  • There are no exact rules regarding weight and dimensions of luggage. 'Regular' more or less equals a maximum weight of 32 kg and a maximum length of 85 cm. 
  
Non-standard luggage 
  • Examples of non-standard luggage: 
    • Folded pushchairs. 
    • Packed bicycles (folding or otherwise) meeting the conditions for travelling with a bicycle on TGV 
    • Musical instruments in a hard instrument case. 
    • Golf bags. 
  
Not allowed 
  • Check the customs rules before travelling. Items not permitted by customs or another government body are also prohibited on the TGV.  Examples include: 
    • Replica or toy weapons that could be perceived as real weapons. 
    • Ammunition. 
    • Fireworks. 
    • Hazardous sports equipment (such as javelins, crossbows, fencing sabres and starting pistols). 
  
What next 
  • If your luggage meets the conditions, you can take it on the train with you and stow it free of charge in the locations intended for this: 
    • Luggage racks above the seats. 
    • Under the seats. 
    • Luggage racks at the ends of each coach. 
  • If your luggage does not meet the conditions, it may be refused. 
  • You remain responsible for your own luggage.
