  • There are no special fares for passengers with a disability, they travel at a regular fare.
  • There is a reduced fare for the accompanying passenger, the Companion fare.
Travelling with a wheelchair 
  • The maximum dimensions of a wheelchair (folding, electric or otherwise) or a mobility scooter are: 120 x 70 cm (l x w). 
  • Passengers in wheelchairs travel at a special Wheelchair fare. 
    • Please note: in addition to a special ticket, please also reserve a special wheelchair space if required. 
    • The adapted wheelchair spaces are located in the first-class section. You pay a second-class fare. 
  • A wheelchair fare can also be booked for a regular seat. A passenger with a disability must meet the following conditions for this: 
    • You can walk short distances. 
    • You can sit in a regular seat. 
    • You possess a folding wheelchair. 
  • The Begeleiderstarief [Companion fare] applies to accompanying passengers. 
    • The seats beside the wheelchair spaces remain free for accompanying passengers. It is not necessary/possible to reserve these seats. 
Travelling with a visual impairment 
  • Passengers with a visual impairment travel at a regular fare. 
  • Accompanying passengers travel at the Begeleiderstarief [Companion fare]. 
Travelling with a registered assistance dog 
  • Guide dogs and other assistance dogs travel for free, without a ticket. A muzzle is not required.

  • You can request assistance with getting on and off the train from NS Travel Assistance.
  • Requests for assistance during an international journey should be submitted at least 24 hours before departure of the train.
