Conditions
  • There are no special fares for passengers with a disability, they travel at a regular fare.
  • There is a reduced fare for the accompanying passenger, the Companion fare.
 
Travelling with a wheelchair 
  • The maximum dimensions of a wheelchair (folding, electric or otherwise) or a mobility scooter are: 120 x 70 cm (l x w).
  • Passengers in wheelchairs travel at the Wheelchair fare. 
    • Please note: in addition to a special ticket, please also reserve a special wheelchair space. 
    • The adapted wheelchair space is located in: 
      • TGV: in first class, coach 1 or 11, seat 23
      • ICE: in second class, coach 24 or 34, seat 66 
  • The accompanying-passenger fare applies to accompanying passengers. 
    • The seats next to the wheelchair spaces remain free for accompanying passengers. It is not necessary/possible to reserve these seats. 
 
Travelling with a visual impairment 
  • Passengers with a visual impairment travel at a regular fare. 
  • Accompanying passengers travel at the accompanying-passenger fare. 
 
Travelling with a registered assistance dog 
  • Guide dogs and other assistance dogs travel for free, without a ticket. A muzzle is not required.

  • You can book tickets for passengers with a disability and accompanying passengers at a NS International Service desk or from NS International Customer service on +31 30 2300023.
  • You can request assistance with getting on and off the train from NS Travel Assistance.
  • Requests for assistance during an international journey should be submitted at least 24 hours before departure of the train.
