Eurostar to Belgium/France » Travelling with a disability

Conditions
Travelling with a wheelchair/mobility scooter
  • There are two wheelchair/mobility scooter spaces in Premium, coach 1 (11, 21 or 31), seat numbers 22 and 23. The seats for accompanying passengers are located beside the wheelchair spaces and are numbered 21 and 24.
  • Maximum wheelchair or mobility scooter dimensions: 70 cm wide and 120 cm long.
  • Maximum turning diameter: 150 cm.
  • Maximum weight of electric wheelchair/scooter, passenger and luggage: 300 kg.
    • The maximum weight for a manual wheelchair, passenger and luggage is 200 kg.
  • If you are travelling with a folding wheelchair that is wider than 70 cm, you can only take the wheelchair on board with you if it is folded up as regular luggage with maximum dimensions of 75 x 53 x 30 cm (l x w x h). You sit in a regular seat. However, passengers with a wheelchair are advised to use the wheelchair space, since a folding wheelchair will probably not comply with regular luggage dimensions and may therefore be refused.
  • The exterior doors are 113 cm wide and the internal doors 77 cm wide.
  • A reduced fare – the Wheelchair Fare – is available for passengers in a wheelchair.
    • The Wheelchair fare can also be booked if the passenger with reduced mobility does not use a wheelchair space, but a regular seat.
    • The reverse is not possible: a wheelchair space cannot be booked at a fare different from the Wheelchair Fare.
  • Passengers with reduced mobility must be in possession of an OV-Begeleiderskaart or medical certificate.
  • Mobility scooters with combustion engines are prohibited.
  • Wheelchair spaces and Companion seats can be booked for passengers without a disability from 30 minutes before the train departs.

  • Passengers with an auditive or visual impairment and their companions travel using the regular fares.
  • Guide dogs or assistance dogs travel for free and without a ticket.

  • Passengers with reduced mobility must be in possession of an OV-Begeleiderskaart or medical certificate.
  • A maximum of one companion is permitted at this fare.
